A small reset for untidy text
A practical way to check a draft before sharing it.
Start with the message
Before polishing a draft, write down the one thing you want someone to understand. Read the draft once for meaning. Move the main point towards the beginning, and separate unrelated ideas into their own paragraphs.
Check the shape
Paste the draft into the text workbench to see the word count, character count and paragraph count. The reading-time estimate uses 200 words per minute. It is a rough planning aid; technical language, unfamiliar words and the reader’s circumstances can change the actual time.
Tidy with care
The tidy action removes spaces from the ends of lines, reduces repeated horizontal spaces and limits consecutive blank lines. It preserves normal line breaks. Keep your original if spacing matters, such as in code, tables or poetry. Undo or reload cannot recover text you have already replaced outside this page.
Read it once more
Shorter is useful only when the meaning remains clear. Check names, dates and any important instructions yourself. The tool counts and adjusts spacing; it does not fact-check, translate or rewrite your message.
